Revealing the Rookery talk at the Sir John Soane’s Museum

Sian Anthony and I were invited to do our talk Revealing the Rookery St Giles: Art, Artefacts & Anecdotes talk for the patrons of the John Soane Museum back in early July. The evening sold out and we spoke to a packed Library, who made some very kind comments afterwards – and asked some great questions too!
The museum staff were fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful – they laid on a wonderful spread of champagne and canapes, whilst our team provided the Gin Twists (from a recipe c.1820). It was a really enjoyable evening for all and good fun.

I’d like to thank Mike Nicholson, the Development Director at the museum for inviting us and extend my gratitude to Ingrid Beazley (a patron of the Sir John Soane), for her kind introduction in the first place. I would also like to thank Jessica Skippon for her help organising the evening for myself and Sian. Here are some wobbly photos from the evening – I have no idea why they turned out like this!

I highly recommend visiting the Sir John Soane’s Museum. They have the most wonderful collection of Hogarth’s, including the Election series and A Rake’s Progress…
